Transportation

We kindly ask that all luggage not exceed 50lbs/23kg in weight, so as to allow for an intimate travel experience. Two prearranged roundtrip airport transfers will be provided both on arrival and departure day. Departure times will be provided upon full payment.

Day 1 – Palermo

Welcome to the enchanting island of Sicily, rich in warmth, history, and art. A private driver – awaiting your arrival at Palermo Falcone-Borsellino Airport PMO – will accompany you to your evening’s accommodations, choose between settling in or exploring about, following will be a celebratory dinner with Sicilian specialties.

Day 2 – Palermo & Monreale

Prepare yourself for a guided sightseeing feast, filled with domes and cupolas of Gothic, Byzantine, and Baroque architecture – to name just a few. Then travel to the magnificent Monreale Cathedral, where marvelous 12th century mosaics await within.

Day 3 – Agrigento

Enjoy the beautiful, scenic drive to Marsala, originally founded as a Carthaginian colony but mostly known for its wine. Continue the journey to Agrigento and tour through the magnificent Valley of Temples with a local, private guide. Even travelers who have visited Athens and Delphi are awed by the miraculous Greek structures that have survived over twenty-four centuries of history.

  • Travel through the Salt Mills, the largest lagoon in Italy, home to the ancient tradition of sea-salt production

Day 4 – Ragusa

Now with the Mediterranean breeze at your back, travel to the ancient sites of Piazza Armerina on our way through The Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto.

  • Visit “The Villa Romana Del Casale” in Piazza Armerina, one of the richest collections of Roman mosaics in the world dating back to the early 4th century AD
  • Continue your travel around the southeastern corner of Sicily to Ragusa

Day 5 – Ragusa & Modica

Guided sightseeing tour through Ragusa’s oldest district, the IBLA, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautiful palaces and churches. Time on your own to further explore or maybe relax at an outdoor café! In the late afternoon, travel to nearby Modica with its steeply stacked medieval center and spectacular Baroque churches. Wander along Corso Umberto and stop at the famous Dolceria Bonajuto, Sicily’s oldest chocolate factory, for a tasting. (B)

Day Day 6 – Siracusa & Ortigya

Birthplace of Archimedes. Enter the enchanting world of the archeological sites with a guided tour to appreciate its beauty. Time to explore the spectacular Old City, a maze of narrow streets lined with palaces, sprawling over the island of Ortygia. It was here that the famous geometrician Archimedes ran naked through the streets, exclaiming ‘Eureka!’. Enchanting Ortygia, mostly known for being the birthplace of the Goddess Artemis, twin sister of Apollo.

  • Continue to the charming Taormina Riviera

Day 7 – Taormina & Cyclops Riviera

Awake in spectacular Taormina, a perfect blend of twisting medieval streets and a most enchanting, romantic air. Board a private boat, brush through the Mediterranean Sea and tour the fabled Cyclops Riviera, cradle of a wealth of mythical ancient legends, under the Sicilian sun.

Day 8 – Taormina

Pearl of the Mediterranean. Leisure morning to stroll, shop and enjoy the beauty of Taormina, home to the ancient Greek Theater, dating back to the 3rd century BC.

  • Time to enjoy at your own pace this posh village, either by strolling through elegant shops and boutiques or tasting a classic Sicilian granita and brioche at a famous local café
  • Farewell dinner on a charming country villa, dating back to 1800’s, all women owned and operated on the outskirts of Taormina

Day 9 – Taormina – Catania

Time to pack your bag, enjoy your final espresso and… Arrivederci Sicily!
